Location: Southeastern United States
Opportunities: "Black farming, Black history, Black culture"
"SAAFON farmers are pursuing food production and farming as a strategy for community development and empowerment, and not just as an economic enterprise. Our members are creating new and innovative land engagement models to sustain their operations and to improve their communities. Our Black farmers are called to provide not only nutritional, but also spiritual, economic, cultural and political nourishment to our communities. Consequently, our network serves as a greenhouse for new small-farm models."
